Hello all,

I have recently read somewhere that eating meat is good for those with Hashimotos because their antibodies go down.

I wonder if anyone had their personal experience / observation that supports this statement.

Gal_Ka, the Paleo Diet is often recommended to Hashi patients but it is the exclusion of gluten and grains which is supposed to reduce antibodies, not the inclusion of meat/fish.

Hello Gal_Ka,

Protein is vital in our diets as is an essential nutrient. It is required for building skeletal muscle and other tissues and provides fuel.

I used to be veggie many years ago but now believe I didn't get all the nutrients required so now eat meat and feel much better.

I have Hashi but have managed to decrease my antibody count.
