Hi, I have been on levothyroxine for 20 years now and have learned to live with the debilitating that surrounds hypothyroidism. I am also about to go into final year of a degree course and have found retaining information really difficult. Is this part of the problem or just age???

Could it be B12 ? What are your levels ? Also levels of Iron - Ferritin - Folate - VitD. All need to be optimal. Do you have any recent thyroid test results ?
I never learned to live with it, I used the info available on forums like this one, plus thyroiduk.org.uk. and Tpauk.com, I got tested, monitored myself, changed my meds and got better.
You can too.
Low b12 will mess up your memory. What level is yours? Time to shake up your doctor. Start by writing and asking for all test results over the past 5 years. Under the 1998 data protection act the doctor is obliged to give you these, but may charge a small fee.
Go!
