Hi all was wondering if anyone was aware of any private doctors who will treat hypothyroidism based on symptoms rather than blood test results alone?

Thank in advancex

I think most doctors would want to run blood tests and see if the results link in with the symptoms before treating. But there are a number of private doctors who having done the tests, if they are borderline will still treat if there are symptoms. Louise Warvill, Thyroid UK admin has a list of sympathetic ones, so do email her: <louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org.uk>

I'm in the states and I found a private doctor who diagnosed me as hypothyroid and has been treating me for over a year based upon symptoms. He is a godsend as I had been suffering for over 2 1/2 years prior to my seeing him. They are out there!
