Menopause aching

I'm in the peri menopause stage. I'm coming up 50 and haven't had a period since April. Just recently I have been experiencing bad joint pain in my arms, legs, toes and fingers. I have brain fog and head aches, it really is beginning to affect my life, can anyone give me advice that could help in anyway? I've taken today off work but I can't keep doing that!

Welcome to the forum, Gillyruss100.

Peri/menopause can trigger thyroid problems. Have you had a thyroid function test? It's also worth asking your GP to test ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate. Low/deficient levels can cause musculoskeletal pain, fatigue and low mood similar to hypothyroid and menopausal symptoms.

Hi, I'm in peri menopause with pernicious anaemia and hypothyroid and found Vit D and K2 really helped with my joint pain, I couldn't sleep because of shoulder, neck and hip pain and literally within 48 hours had a big improvement - my finger and big toes had slightly swollen and painful joints (and funny big toe nails) this was Psoriatic Arthritis and has improved with the Vit D as well, but also a GF diet has helped a lot with some odd pains around my rib cage. I don't know if you have night sweats but valerian and hops supplements have really helped with those. X
