Just read this article and it is scary and very interesting. I have never liked soy products except for soy sauce now and again in a stir fry. My parents on the other hand drink soy milk all the time and ditched diary due to health claims of soy being better for you. I will share this with them but I know I have a hard slog ahead to convince them.

It's terrible, isn't it, when people stop eating one thing on the grounds it's unhealthy, then take to something else. The soy spin doctors have done a very good job! I wish you luck with trying to persuade them. Hope the article helps.

They might come back at you with the old myth that Chinese/Japanese people eat it all the time! Yes, but only in tiny quantities - as a condiment, not a main meal. Also, the Chinese/Japanese only consume fermented soy, which is a totally different thing.

Totally agree, I found another article after reading yours. It is really shocking what goes on.

Thank you for posting this Greygoose, I had been worrying over soya for a long time. I only have marinated tofu a couple of times a month these days, but it maybe hiddenin some of the foods I buy : <.

Before being diagnosed, I did eat a lot of soya - being veggie it was in all the supermarket meatfree alternatives, It never occurred to me that I was doing damage, but clearly it was, also thinking Tofu was rich in protein, I thought i was eating healthily

The food industry has a lot to answer for

I know, so many people do believe that - and who can blame them! There are adverts everywhere telling you it's 'healthy'. But, now we have internet, we can research these things for ourselves. :)
