Mama-T, there's no folate result on the post I deleted or the two I repliied too. Were B12 and ferritin tested?

B12 reading was 364 and folate 1.3

Mama-T, what is the folate range?

B12 is low, 1,000 is optimal. Supplement 1,000mcg methylcobalamin sublingual lozenges, spray or patches and take a B Complex vitamin to keep the other B vitamins balanced.

Folate range is 3.0-20.0 and I've been given 5mg folic acid 1 a day

Sorry for all the questions. I just want to be armed with all the right info for my appointment with my gp so I can't be fobbed off again. They never ever test my T3, and any time I've asked I've been told it's not necessary

Mama-t, I can't agree it isn't necessary but most labs won't test FT3 even when the GP orders it if TSH isn't suppressed <0.03.

You can order private FT3 tests from Blue Horizon and Genova via thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Mama-t, they've got something right :-D 5mg raised my deficient folate in 8 weeks. Ask for a retest after 3-4 months.

Ferritin is 69.7
