Jk004, you appear to be optimally medicated as TSH is low and FT4 is almost in the top 75% of range, but as I said in your previous thread, some people do need a lower TSH and higher FT4 to feel well.

In your previous post below, I suggested you obtain a copy of Dr. Toft's comments in Pulse to show your GP to persuade him to increase your dose and also ask for some mineral and vitamin blood tests to see whether you are low or deficient.

Jkoo4, I've deleted your duplicate post.

Have you had thyroid antibodies tested to confirm Hashimoto's? Many members find a gluten-free diet can be helpful in reducing Hashi flares and antibodies.

I had a throat scan which showed it was cores and that was hashi . Don't think antibodies have been tested.

Jk004, Hashimoto's does cause coarse texture when it attacks the thyroid gland. Gluten-free diet is certainly worth trying for a few months to see whether symptoms improve.

Thank you, just started gluten free diet. Will this help my tiredness ? Should my thyroxine be upped.

I have had the pulse information but do not understand it , can I just increase my medication.

Jkoo4, It will take a few weeks to feel any benefit from going g-f.

Will you have enough Levothyroxine to increase dose? Your GP should understand the article.

Yes I have enough should I got from 75 to 100 or 75 to half of a 25 tablet ? Will this help with lower tsh and higher ft4 ? I'm desperate to feel normal x

Jk004, go to 100mcg. It should help but will take up to 6-8 weeks for you to get the full impact of the dose increase. You also need to have ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate tested as low/deficient levels can cause musculoskeletal pain, fatigue and low mood similar to hypothyroid symptoms.

Thank you , will ask for this to be done . Thanks

GF should help you feel less tired. I felt a LOT better after a couple of weeks of GF. I also found my ferritin and B vitamins were low and have been working on them to feel better too. Good luck.

Have you been taking supplements to get your ferritin B vitamins better ?

Have you had your iron, ferritin, folate, Vitd and Vit B12 levels measured? It's common for hypo people to be deficient in one or more and that can cause a lot of similar symptoms.

I'm not sure , would that be full blood count ? I have posted my last results but not sure if all those are on there .

No, they are not on there. You have calcium, but not iron, ferritin, folate, Vit D and Vit B12 - which are all called by their names. Ask your doctor to have them done because they all need to be optimal for you to use the Levo you're taking. :)

thank you ,if they come back low do i take supplements ,im going to take 100 levo rather than the 75 and go gluten free . thanks

When you get your results, post them here and we'll be able to advise you about supplementing.

If these nutrients aren't all optimal, your body isn't going to be able to use the hormone you are giving it, so any deficiencies have to be dealt with for you to be well.

You will remain hypo if not converting your t4 to t3 well. With a free t4 at the top of the range and still symptomatic..i would bet that you are not converting well. I'd bet your ft3 level is low. This happens to me. You may benefit from lowering your t4 meds and adding t3, but you would likely have to self medicate. I see the doc's in the UK, just don't prescribe t3 very often and don't believe in the non converting issue.
