Hi... Yes I did too before going gluten free and now it's gone. My back was the worst area ... 🍀

Hmmmm I get it really bad on my lower arms and lower legs. Do you think gluten was definitely the cause? I've been thinking of trying gluten free.

I think it's probably a wheat allergy for me. I tested negative for CD but my dad has a wheat allergy which started in his 30's. Nothing to do with my thyroid medication as I've been on that for 14 years. As soon as I stopped the gluten the itching stopped and so thankfully did the constipation!! Give it a try 🍀

It's not gluten with me - I've been gluten free for a year. It's my back that's so itchy, worse in the evening. I'm hoping it will disappear when I'm finally optimally medicated; I've had so many setbacks and have had to keep starting again, but I think I'm finally getting there.

Yes, I itch all over my back and legs and ears, but the worst ones are my nose and head. Embarrassing if you have to scratch your nose or head in public!

One more thing. I've been gluten free for many years and it hasn't stopped the itching. In fact, it seems to be getting worse.

I too have the itching, and pins and needles feeling all over my body, I don't think its Gluten for me either its this Bloody Thyroid issue :(

Its mucks up all your body!!!!!

I do notice with myself that when I start crying or maybe stressed it comes over me

I was really bad in the early stages I would be consumed by the feeling, I would want to undress, lol

Yes,

I had itchy skin too, especially my back which was hard to reach. It nearly drove me insane. I am gluten free and dairy free. That may have helped cure it. However it seems to be very common amongst those with thyroid disorders. Maybe it's a matter of getting the hormone balance right.

Don't know about medication. However I do take a few supplements and the medication I take is Natural Thyroid which is compounded by PCNZ New Zealand (where I live). My supplements are magnesium (forte), zinc, selenium, vitamins: B12, B5, Bcomplex, D3, K2. Both vitamin B12 and B5 are good for your nervous system and B5 also supports your adrenals. I also take ashwagandha (Indian Ginseng) in powder form purchased on the net fro 'iherb' (one teaspoon a day in a smoothie). I suspect that both my adrenals (high than normal cortisol) and my hashimotos may have been complicit in the itching. In any event, it is important to eat well as Hypothyroidism compromises the gut's ability to absorb nutrients and vitamins
