Hypothyroidism
Welcome Lisa
I have looked at your Profile and you haven't put any thyroid history in it, i.e. when were you diagnosed, with hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, what medication and dose.
When was your last blood test and do you have a copy of your results, with the ranges.

Lisa078,
Have you been tested for antibodies? Hashimoto Thyroiditis is very common in people with thyroid issues and can present in hypo and hyper symptoms, hot sweats being one of them.
As shaws has already said you need to post recent thyroid hormone blood test results together with ranges (numbers in brackets) to establish what is going on.
Ask your GP to test for antibodies TGAb and TPOAb to ascertain Hashimotos or not. Conventional medicine doesn't usually recognise immune disorders but if you have one, you may find relief from your thyroid symptoms if you were to managed it well.
Also deficiencies in Vit B12, Vit D, Folate and Ferritin are common with thyroid problems and can influence the workings of your meds. Therefore, it is a good idea to get these tested as well and again post results.
It may seem a lot to do but without this information it will be hard for members to comment and help you.
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.
