Swollen ankle

Hello you gorgeous lot. I am doing well on NDT/ T3 but my ankles are still VERY swollen (particularly the left one). Any ideas welcome..

That is very odd because my ankles became swollen on NDT, particularly my left one. I am now on a lower dose of t4/3 and it has all gone back to normal. Coincidence or what?

Thanks Hennerton, I have been considering reducing the NDT and upping the T3

My left one has always been swollen, I have lost almost 3 stone since starting to self medicate, but still no joy with the ankles..

Just be careful with extra T3. I have recently had episodes of atrial fibrillation and suddenly feel like an idiot for ignoring all the warnings. I was only very slightly over range but it seems to have started off something I shall have for the rest of my life.

Hi You need to get it checked out by GP if it does not go down overnight.

My ankles have become swollen on 50 mcg of Levothyroxine and I noticed before the onset of the recent spell of warm weather. Must say that I am prone to getting swollen ankles, especially in hot weather. It seems to be a common problem, as I know of other patients who have experienced it. I wonder if it is a recognised side-effect of levo. Off to check leaflet...

Hi Belworm, I came off Levo in December, and they went down. Now the are back with a vengeance..
