I've got low phosphate and I'm currently taking phosphate sandoz. My specialist has arranged a 24 hour urine phosphate test for this week but I haven't been given any instructions and he is on holiday just now. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this test and if they were told to stop taking phosphate beforehand?
Thanks!

I don't think that page actually answers your question, sorry. Is there any chance you could delay your urine collection until Wednesday, and phone up either your GP, or the specialist's department on Tuesday, after Easter is over?
Thanks for that, I couldn't see an answer either but no worries! I will call them, I've got catecholamines one to do too and I'm getting conflicting info on cutting down or totally abstaining from caffeine before the test. If it's no caffeine at all I'm really going to struggle - my poor hub will probably be best to hide in the garage for a few days until it's all over!
Low phosphate can be a consequence of hyperparathyroidism.
Looking at your posts on hyperparathyroid.org.uk maybe you should be pushing your GP for an Endo appointment to confirm a hyperparathyroid diagnosis and treatment/scans/surgery?
