My son is on statins and won't listen to me. I'll send him this link but I know he'll ignore it :(

Oh dear! Doesn't he know that mother always knows best? You ought to send it to his stupid doctor, too. Why do they keep prescribing these things? Do they really want to kill their patients?

Has your son been tested for thyroid?

He's type 2 diabetic (we're an auto immune family) and was tested for thyroid at the same time. He falls into the category of 'changing my life is too hard - just give me the meds' .....he is his fathe'rs son......

So sad. But doesn't he realise that the meds might change his life for the worst?

Sometimes the last person you want to listen to is the one closest to you. I just keep sending the latest research reports and hope he reads them. He's an adult and as his mum I can love him unconditionally but I can no longer take responsibility for him. Perhaps one day someone will say exactly what I've been saying all along and he'll hear them. All I can do is hope. I know you feel my frustration xx Thanks greygoose

I know. I have the same problems with my children. Just been chatting to my daughter about her adrenals, but I'm not sure she was listening. Ho hum. xxx

..maybe time to give him the book by Dr Malcolm Kendrick - The Cholesterol Con - jezebel69. His latest book is called Doctoring Data - describes how research is flawed and manipulated. There is a DVD with the book - maybe he would listen to that ! My hubby did :-) Kendrick makes a serious subject fun !! The guy heading up the Cholesterol Programme was recently discredited for not revealing research that showed the downside of statins. He has been in the job for 20 years - so what the hell has he been doing with the research ? Stuffing it into cupboards ? Rory Collins is his name.

I know lots of people on statins and when I ask about CoQ10 - it has never been suggested by their Docs.

I too feel your frustration - I too have similar problems :-)
