Jury duty

Does anyone know if u can get a doctors exemption for jury duty due to hypo .. I can't concentrate on filling in the court letter, never mind deciding someone's fate.. I'd miss half the info or forget like ., who, what, where & when.. Too confusing right now!!!

Thanks for that.. I've been selected before & asked to leave because I'm too distinctive.. Long pink dreads, tattoos on my neck, piercings.. To be honest I was quite happy to leave.. This time I don't think I could take all the information & process it .. Bit brain fogged again!

When you reply to your Jury Summons you could try asking for excusal on the grounds that your thyroid condition means you have poor concentration.

Hello Rudegirl,

I was a patient of the late Gordon Skinner, thyroid specialist, when I was called to do jury service in the UK a few years ago. He kindly wrote a letter for me, and I forwarded it onto the relevant authority. I was excused.

Like you, I wouldn't have been able to concentrate, nor deal with the stress, particularly if it was a long trial.
