I have always taken my dose of thyroid medication in one dose, whether levo, T4/T3, NDT or T3. As your dose of T3 is very small i.e. 10mcg equal to about 40mcg of T4 I would take it in one dose. I did when first given 10mcg of T3 to a reduced T4 and felt an immediate improvement.

This is an excerpt and this doctor's patients took one daily dose of NDT or T4/T3 or T3 alone.

And finally, why do I specify that the typical patient use one full dose of non-timed-release Cytomel for life? Because extensive testing has shown that this is safe, effective, and most economical—when used within the context of our entire protocol.

He was also a scientist and took 150mcg of T3 himself in one dose.

He's clearly trying to make your treatment fail so he can say "Told you it wasn't your thyroid" and give you anti-depressants instead.

I just read your dose correction. 5mcg twice a day is much more normal for a starting dose for someone who is already taking levothyroxine. :)

T3 is quite potent stuff. Many people would notice something within a day or two even if the dose is small.

I am confused. Are you just taking a total of T3 in two 5mcg doses and nothing else? That cannot be enough. Are you taking T4 as well and forgot to mention it? I cannot see how you will improve on that dose, so be aware that you may feel hypo quite quickly. What were you taking before this? I take that amount of T3 in two doses but take 100 T4 as well.

Sorry I made a mistake it's 5mcg twice a day (confused me it's a 20mcg tablet cut into 4 quarters) so 2 quaters

Oh and 100mg Levo ( lowered from 125)
