I am looking to make an appointment with a sympathetic private Endo. All previous topics on here relate to a Dr P & Dr S some years ago. Are these people still practising and could someone please provide their contact details. Thank you, Gill.

Private endo?
Dr P still sees patients but cannot prescribe thyroid hormones as he relinguished is Licence a few years ago. He was being pursued by the 'officials' as he treated patients as he was taught. He can recommend items.
Dr Skinner, unfortunately, for many hundreds of patients died of a stroke 2 years ago and is a huge loss as he was forefront of telling the endocrinologists and their organisations that they were wrong and trying to change their insensitive guidelines. He also treated patients as he was taught and prescribed what patients' needed to get well. He, too, appeared before the GMC 7 times to defend himself and I think it must have been very arduous on him as he was in his 70's.
That's why many medical people toe the line laid down by the authorities of levothyroxine alone to be prescribed.
If you email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org for a list of sympathetic doctors.
Others will Private Message you re info about Dr Peatfield.
Sadly, Dr S died, but Dr P is still practising. But neither of them are endos. If you email Louise Warvill at TUK, she will send you a list of private doctors who are knowledgeable about thyroid disease and you can choose one of them, A private endo is not necessarily the way to go, but it depends on the problem.
