recurrence of goitre

HI , Im after some help please - I have a total thyroidectomy a year and a half ago and I've just become aware that my goitre may have come back again and the uncomfortable feeling i had with it. Is this possible at all - if so what could be the cause of this - any help gratefully received.

I am sorry you are having symptoms which you think is a recurrence and this is an excerpt:-

CONCLUSIONS:

Total thyroidectomy for BMNG is not only a safe procedure but is efficacious in preventing recurrent disease. Failure to remove embryological remnants such as thyrothymic residue or pyramidal remnants during total thyroidectomy is the major cause of recurrence.
