Hi thanks for that will do did have iron and b12 tests done a short time ago and were within normal range.I have just bought a nutritional thyroid support supplement from nutri'which I have only just started taking today.A while back I had cortisol level check and they were low'but not low enough to do anything about.A nurse who took my bloods told me she had similar readings to me but doc wouldn't give her any meds then 3 months later they were out of range and they put her on 75 of levothyroxine and she now feels great. The range for free t4 were 7-17 I don't know why they think 8 is normal.I really would like to just try a low dose of Levi to see how I get on.

Thanks

Caroash, a low dose of Levothyroxine can be worse than none as it can suppress your own thyroid hormone production. FT4 8 (7-17) is low and it probably won't take long for it to fall below range when you will get a diagnosis and treatment.

If you can, get a printout of your other blood results with the lab ref ranges and post them for comment. 'Normal' just means within range and isn't the same as optimal.

Hi I requested these today as were done separately from other bloods'B12 is 409 in a rage of 145-910.Ferritin is 77 in a range between 5-85.They don't do folate is that b5 as I take good qualityb complex. My haemoglobin is 136 g/L in a range of 115-165 g/L.Serum free t4 8.5,serum tsh 2.95 urea and electrolytes serum sodium 139mmol/L in range of 133-146. Serum potassium 4.5 range 3.50-5.30.serum urea 3.8 range 2.50-7.80.serum creatinine 66 range 50-100..

B12 is too low. Should be up near the top of the range, otherwise you're goping to feel bad. Get some sublingual methylcobalamin from Jarrow.

How much B12 are you planning to take? The quantities in multivits aren't enough to do anything. They are only intended to maintain, not to treat deficiencies.

No, sorry, I'm totally confused! lol Nutri don't do a supplement called Ferritin. And that seems rather an odd mixture to me, an way. Could you be more explicit, please?

Hi sorry I was typing on my phone, the supplement is called FerroDyn'has 28 mg iron, folate as 5 -methyl tetra hydro 200ugfolate(metafolin) and b6 1.4mg.I understand b12 is hard to absorb, but was told this supplement should be absorbed well.

OK, but B12 isn't in that supplement, according to what you've just said. Just B6 and B9. Which is weird, because all the Bs should be taken together as they work together.

What I would recommend is about 2000 mcg sublingual B12 and 50 mcg B complex. Plus iron seperately - although now you've bought the supplement, I guess you could take that along with the B12 and B complex. Bs, after all, are water soluable, so excess is just excreted.

OK, but you have been tested, haven't you? Because it's a bad idea to start supplementing before you get tested because it will skew the results.
