Dr Oz is by no means a saint, nor I think, totally reliable, but he has great influence and at least he seems to be using that to the good.

This just sums up what most of us think and believe about Big Pharma!

Thank you, grey, for bringing this out. Too many people are still unaware of what is happening in the medical system. I followed a bulletin board about ten years ago by a doctor who was harassed for doing the same thing as Dr. Oz. They took away his medical license making it impossible to pay for legal expenses. He was well ahead of his time and personally answered anyone who posted questions on his BB, AskWaltStoll. He never put ads on his website so he was never beholden to anyone. This takes a tremendous toll on any doctor who attempts to circumvent the system with the TRUTH.

His archives of all the questions and answers and articles are still online and the information he gave was priceless.

I want to add that Dr. Mercola is also carrying the banner of exposing some of this corruption. He's been criticized for selling so many products but I don't think that lessens what he has provided in the way of interviews with professors and researchers and at least allowing other opinions to be heard.

Yes, he's good, too. I get his daily newsletter. I've learnt a lot from him. Although, I have to say, he's not that clued up on hormones.

Thanks for your great link. That's exactly what we know is going on, particularly on this forum with regard to NDT and the insistence on the TSH for diagnosing. I particularly noted this para:-

The real root of this story is that all the pro-pharma publications who attack Dr. Oz are also contributing directly to the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans each year. At least 100,000 Americans die each year from the deadly effects of prescription medications, and the real number is probably over 200,000.

Yes, exactly. And, l could be wrong, but l feel that we hypos suffer from this more than most people. Probably because we have so many, many symptoms. Well, l don't think, i know!

The fact also, that many doctors keep their patients' TSH 'in the normal' when it should probably be suppressed. The fact too that a blood test is not always done when we first or continually complain.

And the fact that they don't do FT3, which is THE most important test to do! And the fact that they are too ignorant to know that. And all that is down to Big Pharma's Big Business Plans!

Yes, we have now cottoned on to whom is really behind the push onto levo only. Also denial of T3 or NDT, even on a trial, plus refusal to test T3 and patients remaining very unwell.

The question now is : what to do about it???
