Has anyone with hypothyroid and any of the others mentioned above found that their other symptoms improve if hypothyroid properly medicated?

I don't know, siskin, I wonder if anyone on Levo can be called properly medicated. My sister in law has been on Synthroid for a long time but in her sixties she has had frozen shoulder and now PMR they think. She had other problems as well. I'm thinking her vitamin D level may not have been optimal and THAT also affects your immunity. I think she regulated her thyroid meds carefully.

Her sister has had fibromyalgia for many years and I don't think her thyroid levels have ever been optimal. Same with her vitamin D.

Thank you Heloise, I am still only on 50mcg levo. hope to go up to 75 in a weeks time.

I have just started taking 25 IU Vit D3 2 x day. as I am virtually housebound. Waiting for blood test results.

I supposed my question was a bit of wishful thinking.

Hi siskinYes my fibromyalgia pains and brain fog fell away over night once optimally medicated, I swapped to taking my Levothyroxine at night time, on an empty stomach and 4 hours away from dairy, iron and my HRT medication (which I am now coming off of.) By changing the way I did I got more of an optimal dose out of my Levo.

Also my hip pains, tailbone pain, leg pains, sciatica and night time Restless legs fell away once I upped my Vitamin D3.

See also the - vitamindcouncil.com for safe doses of vitamin D3 and all illnesses associated with vitamin D deficiency. They say at least 80% of us are vit D deficient, but many do not realize they are.

Hi reallyfedup123 I don't know if RA is sero positive or not. I have had RA for 20 yrs. There is no doubt about the diagnosis, have a lot of the deformities that are typical of RA. There was no adequate treatment when I became ill.

I have only just been allowed to try Levo, but if no good result will ask for NDT.

Thanks for reply Coastwalker, am so pleased for you, I take levo on empty stomach in morning (need to have full tum at night or can't sleep)

Have started to take VitD3 but will look at Vit D council to see upper limits. Thank you for that.
