Fion, It helps members advise whether you are optimally medicated if you can say what your recent blood results are and what dose you are on. Tingling is often a symptom of B12 deficiency so you should ask your GP to test B12 and folate and also ferritin and vitamin D. Low/deficient levels can cause musculoskeletal pain, fatigue and mood similar to hypothyroid symptoms.

Many doctors don't know what "proper levels" are. Insist on being told what your results actually are, with the lab test ranges, and come back and post them here.

Unfortunately many of us here have had to take responsibility for our health into our own hands. It's a shock to find doctors are unwilling to help, but you don't have to suffer unnecessarily.

Fion, ask the GP receptionist or practice manager for copies of your recent thyroid results with the lab ref ranges. Patients are entitled to see their results under the Data Protection Act. Then post them in a new question and we'll try to help.

Hi fion,

From now on every time you have a blood test, you have to ask for a print-out from the surgery, with the ranges for your own records and so that you can post them for comments. Otherwise people cannot help you. The blood tests can point out whether you are underdosed, or overdosed.

They need to know whether you have been diagnosed, when, what dose you are taking at present.

If you aren't feeling well at present, we have to read and learn and respond to questions otherwise we may stay in the same state of health .
