Gemini, Folic acid has been prescribed as you are folate deficient. You should be retested in 4 months as long term supplementation of high dose folic acid isn't recommended.

B12 and ferritin results are within their respective ranges so NHS won't prescribe. Nevertheless, they aren't optimal and I would suggest supplementing 500mcg-1,000 B12 methylcobalamin sublingual lozenges, spray or patches. You can't OD on B12 as excess is excretedin urine. Most of us like our B12 at the top of the range. I found BetterYou Boost spray effective and am currently using Jarrows Formula lozenges both available from Amazon. It's a good idea to supplement a B Complex too, to keep the other B vits balanced. I use a supermarket brand.

Ferritin is optimal 70-90 or half way in range so I suggest supplementing ferrous fumarate and take each tablet with 500mg-1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption and mitigate constipation. FF is available over the counter except in Boots where a prescription is required. Retest ferritin 4/6 months later and stop supplementing 7 days prior to the blood test.

I too agree with the advice given by Clutter. So now you have some shopping to do :-) - before the Christmas rush. It will be good to order now and start your new protocol before Christmas. It will take time for vitamins and minerals to improve things in the body - so we have to be patient. Cannot see the VitD test - oh dear !

Hope you soon feel better.....

Thank you Marz,it's due to you that poor clutter has had to put up with me .and I mean that in the nicest possible way. It took you to make me realise GP are a waste of time. And that's not just with my thyroid I've had problems, but I stamp my feet a bit more now. My Vit D gets tested January for Osteoporosis. I wish you and your family a nice Christmas and a Happy new

Year. Thank you.
