I had cortisol tested does anyone know what this is and also the reading was 395 does anyone know what this means please

It depends on the time of your test. If it was a 9am test then it's a little bit low. If it was an afternoon test the result isn't too bad.

I had a cortisol test done and at 9 am my level was 195 nmol. The range was 185nmol to 700nmol.

I'm classed as 'low normal' by the drs but another dr says I've secondary adrenal insufficiency and I should be on hydrocortisone. I've taken hydrocortisone earlier this year for about 8 weeks and started to feel really good again. Not falling asleep, staying awake to a normal time at night and not hitting the bed at 8am. I stopped as I needed an SST test and wanted to rid my body of hydrocortisone. The endo I saw then frightened me to death and I stopped taking it. Now I feel tired all the time and fall asleep at 9am in front of the tv. I need an afternoon nap most days. I'm taking loads of supplements to try to boost myself up.

What did the endo say to make you frightened to take the medication?

What did the endocrinologist say to scare you ? I have just been referred as my blood cortisol level at 9am was 119 and feel rough most days but pleased it's being looked into. How do you feel now and are you taking medication now for this ?
