It's been more then 5 years I've been taking 150mg of levothyroxine daily.. and don't think my monitoring is right. Isn't it too much? I've been feeling tires, pain in joints and really dry skin. I don't take any supplement and don't know how I should start. Need a bit of advice from people in the same situation as me. Hypothyroidism.

Do you have any blood test results that you could post up?

I don't have them here with me. My GP says the levels are under control. But I don't understand why my skin is getting drier and drier, as my hair... and I am feeling so tired with muscle pains all over. So I'm asking tests again. Them I'll post them. Thanks so much for your reply : )
I'm afraid to say that some GPs know very little about thyroid disease so whenever they say blood tests are 'fine' you need to request a copy.
The best thing you can do is to educate yourself as much as possible on thyroid matters and don't rely on the NHS.
Welcome to our forum,
150mcg is about average but we all vary. What you have to do first of all is get a blood test for your thyroid gland. Ask the GP for a full thyroid function test, which should be TSH, T4, T3, Free T4 and Free T3. They may not do them all but you can always ask. Also ask for a Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.
Make the earliest appointment for the blood test and do NOT take your thyroid medication before and take it after the test. If you've eaten you have to have a gap of two hours either side of taking levo.
Get a copy from the surgery of your results, with the ranges and post on a new question for members to comment on them.
I think you could be undermedicated as you have clinical symptoms.
This is a link of supplements that could help but don't take them until after your blood test.
Thanks so much for your reply : ) I'll have my tests done to get everything right from the beginning.
