my latest thyroin function test is 1.8 mu/L (0.2-6.0) i,m on 175 micro grammes of levothyroxin . Is that right

Jessmac, If you feel well it's fine. Most hypothyroid patients on medication would feel more comfortable with TSH just above or below 1.0 and some don't feel well unless it is 0.5 or suppressed <0.03.

Thanks Clutter. I haven,t been feeling right since i had my thyroid removed last year I will be seeing a Endo in August and I hope I ,ll be able to sort out my problems, Just want to get my thyroxin level right so I can start feeling well again

Jess, have your FT4 and FT3 been tested since your thyroidectomy? Thyroidless patients don't always do well on Levothyroxine and need some T3 added to feel well. eje-online.org/content/161/...

If your GP won't test them it may be worth ordering a private test from Blue Horizon or Genova prior to your endo appt in August thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

jess, some people never feel right on thyroxine. I was on it for six years and still have residual problems even after switching to Armour. After one year you should be on the right dose by now. A free T3 test would tell you more than a TSH test does. Insist on it if you do not feel very well.

It's a complicated illness and co factors also should be considered.
