ERFA changed manufacturer.

Just saw this on STTM:

ARE YOU ON ERFA AND HAVE NOTICED YOUR HYPO SYMPTOMS RETURNING (and you know it's not just because you have low iron or a cortisol problem)??? PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO CONTACT ERFA AND TELL THEM SPECIFICALLY WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU!! Erfa, the company which makes the Canadian version of desiccated thyroid, changed the place where they manufacture the pills. Thus, there are now reports from numerous patients that it's not only harder, but their hypothyroid symptoms are returning!! You might try increasing it to see if that helps.

In the meantime, contact Erfa's director and COMPLAIN: henri.knafo@eci2012.net We have to be proactive in getting the message across that this new way of making Erfa has ruined their product...and if they want our business, CHANGE IT BACK!!

I have a supply left so still on old tablets but anyone else notice any affects?

A few of us found this a couple of months ago, and have had to change meds. I totally crashed when I was switched to erfa. I e-mailed them but never got a response.

What are you on now? I could get my private dr to change my prescription. I need NDT to work as T4 doesn't work for me.

Naturethroid, but only because I had to buy it urgently, had no money and it was cheaper than armour. But it seems to be working ok and Ive not had any side effects from it. dont like the taste mind you, I actually preferred the taste of armour.

I couldnt get through to my endo that was prescribing the erfa, and gave up trying as I was crashing and went back to self treating.

I have a terrible time with ERFA recently. I emailed Henri Knafo who emailed me back very promptly and even offered to speak on the phone to me. I was impressed by his prompt response........however.......I have switched over to Naturethroid and am attempting to raise my dose. I became extremely ill on ERFA this year and on the advice of my endo stopped it for a week before switching to Naturethroid. I am by no means out of the woods yet.

I hadn't noticed -however i have ahd a bad case of flu -whch have only just got over so feeling lethargic......post flu lethargy or Erfa? have they altered the fillers in Erfa? -hope not.....that was the reason I moved across from Armour when they reformulated that.
