Why do I feel so unwell. Diagnosed hyper in November after a bad reaction to antibiotic.

Was put on 20mg carbimazole when I came out of hospital. I was amazed hadn't felt to bad other than Parkinsons which was diagnosed 2010. I am not on medication for it, my decision.

Since then I have gone downhill. I don't think I have typical hyper symptoms, rarely hot in fact more often chilly

Endo has reduced my carbimazole saying I'm euthyroid to 10mg I feel really unwell today, shivery, upset stomach. I just don't understand why I wouldn't have had symptoms prior to my hospital stay which wad due to being dehydrated due to vomiting.

Would being dehydrated give a false reading?

I now have itchy head and occasionally leg. Occasionally palpitations and racing heart.

Endo has never examined me or asked me how I feel. Wants me to have scan and mentioned Rai if there was a nodule. Yes I am getting on but sick of being treated as I have no intelligence.

Shall see GP tomorrow to check if I have a virus.

What are people's thoughts. Have slight runny nose is it a virus or thyroid?

Maybe it is the antibiotic which has caused the reaction. This is one link although it may not be the antibiotic you have used.

Sorry Shaws, I wasn't referring to antibiotics affecting me now. that was when I was diagnosed way back in November. I was fine until then. Since being diagnosed and put on Carbimazole I have felt awful . Today especially so. It has been reduced from 20mg to 10mg for about 2 or 3 weeks. Dr said in letter to my GP I was euthyroid which isn't true.

I wondered how they could diagnosed me when I was dehydrated and on a drip? Would it have been a true result. Why do I feel so unwell now when I was ok before the carbimazole?
