hello my friends just got my results and cant talk to the dr till monday can any one help me understand ths less than 0.01 .. t4 21 t3-7
Hi Wendy,
As labs throughout the country have different ranges, we need the ranges to go with your blood tests above. If you can get a print-out from the surgery it means that members can comment on them. If not, maybe the Receptionist will give you the ranges over the telephone. I prefer a print-out as I usually mess up the numbers. Each time you have a blood test get a print-out.
Are you feeling unwell?
Hi
If you aren't taking any meds then these results look hyper - although no ranges, so if the lab uses a vastly different range then they might be 'ok'. At best, subclinical hyper if your ft3 and ft4 are at in range.
How do you feel?

i feel unreal ..shakey cant think stright edgy .. sweating jumpy pains aches the list is endless ..thanks for the info x
Hi
You certainly sound hyper and your TSH is very low with high (possibly not out of range, but still high) free T3 and free T4.
Ask your dr to refer you to an endo. Hyperthyroid is dangerous if left untreated. The least the dr should do is give you some beta blockers to help your symptoms.
Can you call and find out the reference ranges for your results? It might make your position stronger to know just how high they are. Post them and someone will help you more

Hi Wendy, is this your first set of thyroid testing? Are you taking anything to either support or reduce thyroid production? I read many, many results and yours are unusual unless your lab is a rare one for this blog. If not, these readings look like you are on the verge of hyperactive thyroid. Do you feel shakey, hot, restless? This is what STTM website calls optimal.

yes Heloise i feel shakey hot restless brian fog .. my doctor says my results are not bad enough to treat me .. i feel ill and he seems disintrested ..very alone at the moment xx
wendy, it amazes me that when people choose to see a doctor, the doctor can decide they aren't sick enough. I was given propylthiouracil (PTU) for a short time. They also use methimazole or carbimazole for hyperthyroid. Pretty safe drugs any of which would probably make you feel better. I don't know how "sick" you have to get before they decide to help you. I never see why that it a good idea instead of catching something early. Of course, I'm no doctor but wonder why if he wasn't going to treat you with medication, did he not advise you what you might possibly do to help yourself.
There are many articles that could explain methods. One thing is to stay away from caffeine and stimulants. I think selenium might help and hypothyroids are supposed to stay away from raw cabbage and vegetables similar to that so maybe you should include them in your diet. I like the Stop the Thyroid Madness website and there are other good ones.
Hi Without ranges , a guess. TSh very low, would not matter if the other results were different. T4 probably too high for normal range. It should only be in top third of range. FT3, if normal range , much too high, needs to be near the top but never over. This will have lowered the TSH.
All guess work without the ranges , or the meds listed. If on treatment , probably too much It takes a .long time for thyroid to be stable, about a year often. Bloods should be done after 6 weeks treatment only then altered after if bloods show needed. ,I was over treated by a private doc without bloods. I was hyper but still felt hypo, symptoms sometimes are the same, as confirmed by my Endo. On the correct treatment , after 3 years, quickly stable and thyroid good.

you may n ot know, to reply to a csertain post, click on "reply to this" under that post, or we do not generally know.
Your very suppressed TSH and high FT4 & FT3 indicates overt hyperthyroidism, probably Graves' Disease. Ask your GP to test for thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor antibodies (TSH-RAb, commonly shortened to TRAb) to confirm. If confirmed, he should refer you to an endocrinologist for treatment.
You may need beta-blockers to prevent damage to your heart and antithyroid medication while waiting for a referral.
Nice guidelines for the management of hyperthyroidism are below and you may like to print it off and give it to your GP before his lack of care ruins your health:
Just had a chat with my doctor who said' no need to treat me yet .. as my t4 is not high enough at 21 the lab range is 12 to 24 I asked about my symptons to which he replied ' you wont have any yet' I tried to tell him I did but nope he not having it ..so i guess i suffer and try to carry on .. I feel so confusd ..lost and very alone ..
Oh Wendy, poor you xx
He cannot tell you that you don't have symptoms, these are what you experience, not things he can see! What an idiot! Is there anyone else you can see?
