For years iv been told I'm fine until the nurse said it to me today what is my next step?
Hi guys just been told I'm hypo but in the lowe... - Thyroid UK
Hi guys just been told I'm hypo but in the lower range... Iv lost my libido always tired and lost 4 stone which is strange is this normal??
Iv also been wrongly diagnosed with depression which I'm guessing they have mistaken due to my thyroid
If you haven't seen your GP you should, unexplained weight loss should always be investigated, could be lots of things. Can occasionally happen in hypothyroidism but they should check everything out.
Hi Ciara,
welcome to this group
Do you know what they tested (TSH, T3, T4, FT3, FT4, antibodies) - do you have your results with references?
If not, you can ask your doctors for a printout and then if you let us know here, there will be someone who can help interpret your results.
What have the hospital and GP recommended as thee next course of action for you?
Also - have you had any other blood tests done such as vit D, vit B12, have you been checked for anemia?
I have been checked for anaemia and they side I'm borderline my tsh is normal it's 1.34 but its my ft4 the hospital is saying is low and that's at 11.8? My sister has previously had over active thyroid and iv been suffering with these symptoms since I was in my early teens but doctors said I was ok until today
I have all my blood results here in front of me got earlier reading of 11.2 wrong my apologies... The hospital said to go back to my gp this week but need advice in what I should be doing or asking for as I haven't a clue
Can you try posting the blood results up with ranges? Best to just include them all if you can.
Ft4 between 9.9 - 20.1 I got 11.8 tsh between 0.15 - 3.2 I got 1.34 iv 3 pages of results and don't know what else to post
Well, I'd love to see them all (could be just me being weird)! One option is to photograph them and post that?
(Obviously blank out any personal details like name, D.O.B. etc.)
have alook at this link, it might be useful if you cannot get your results in a post, at least give you an idea where you are low:

what to ask for depends on your symptoms - the three you mentioned could indeed be other illnesses, I would be most concerned about the weight loss if it has been rapid and if in your opinion you have not changed your diet or become more active.
it is worth telling the doctor if you have been abroad or in close contact with anyone who has been recently.
If your doctor does not think your results are anything to worry about you would need to show queries with specific data from your results before they are likely to change their mind.
just orderd my ft3 test and vitamins tests for next week now i just found esr results are way too high and over the 3.9 - 11.1 average what does this mean?
