Hi, Clutter. This article looks good to me, did you read through the comments? Angus, July 10, 2010 ! I thought it very rude and condescending, got to the end and realised why. The BTA link was to the RCP Hypothyroidism Statement !!! At point 2. Angus says - "Therefore if you are poor at converting T3 to T4" - ??? Is it me? I thought T4 was converted to T3 ? No wonder the BTA, RCP etc. don't know what they are doing!!!

Lol! Angus should have proof read his diatribe and corrected his typo. If he buys the BTA BS his brain must be screaming out for supplementary T3 :-D

Kressler was very civil in his response to Angus' smartaleckery.

I did print Chris Kresser's articles and gave to my GP, that was after she asked me what DHEA was and laughed when I said taking NDT early morning had helped my adrenals.

What's your adrenals got to do with your thyroid was her answer.

So yes, those GP's need educated. Badly.

Sure, there is. Researching your condition and passing on information to uninformed medics, is one way.

Taking your health into your own hands when the professional help is not there is another.

It's not easy and it's a shame professionals aren't better informed or prepared to investigate but the in result is an awareness of your own body and an unwillingness to accept that doctor knows best.

A lot of people are improving their diet and lifestyle to accommodate these illnesses and may avoid developing diabetes and eschew the wholesale swallowing of statins which may bring their own results.

How are you doing on the NDT?

You're absolutely right clutter, sorry I was being a bit facetious! I have decided to keep my ndt on hold til I have been to the eye hospital tomorrow & been for the synacthen test the endo wants me to have. But will report back :-)

I wasn't telling you off, Harry. Just pointing out what you've already done to help yourself in the face of lack of help from your GP :)

Hope all goes well tomorrow x
