How long does it take for the medication to start working? I've been taking it for weeks but no change so far

It takes about six weeks for a level of levothyroixine to reach the peak of the dose. Also, as Moggie asks what is your dose and what is the medication you take. When were you diagnosed? What were your blood test results, you can get a copy from the surgery and also always get a copy of your blood tests from now on for your own records. The copy should include the results of the blood tests plus the ranges (and the figures for the ranges are in brackets) as they are important to make a comment.
You should have a blood test 6 weeks after beginning the medication, with an increase in meds every six weeks till you feel well.
