Hi

Have you recently increased your dose because ever time I increase mine I get a burning kind of itch usually during the evening, when I posted a question about it a while ago some one said they got the same and said it is because the levo is rising in the blood. Mine does eventually settle, hope yours does too.

Best wishes browny

Thanks for your reply browny, I havent increased meds recently but after reading other stuff online im going to try medicating in the morning rather than at night. Anything that allows me to get some sleep. Fingers crossed.

I'm sorry - I can't help in any way except to empathise. I sometimes bring my hairbrush to bed so I can scratch the itch without tearing my skin apart.

What I get doesn't feel like dry skin, but a kind of nerve-ending itch if that makes any sense - ? It starts with one small area where the itch begins like an electrical spark (sometimes it makes me jump) and when I scratch that the area grows and grows until more of me is itchy than is not. It's mainly my legs, right up to my hips and buttocks and right down to the soles of my feet, but sometimes my abdomen is involved. Always at night.

Hi I have this also and it's so annoying and if there is something that can stop it or is it just normal. I have woke with claw marks all over body. I'm on 175 a day Levo and have also been very lafargic and no energy with major headaches and neck pain which have had 8 days on the trot now. My joints are really hurting also but have had major spinal surgery and 3 knee ops. I just wish could wake up without pain and have a normal day.

Hi Wayne, it seems like your having a horrendous time, I hope you get things sorted very soon.

I get this and mine seems to be related to dry skin - so I layer on body cream and oils which really helps (unperfumed as perfume can make it worse).

Thanks LizaSahara, my skin doesnt appear to be dry as such, its more prickly which then spreads until i itch in spasms all over.

I have found what to me is a miracle "Argan Oil" wonderful for dry skin and hair...

A bit pricey but hey ! were worth it, considering what we put up with.

Hi , I also am vey itchy but mainly my back and my scalp...I have been on levothyroxine for 3 years .Dr. gave me all kinds of potions for my scalp and nothing worked , he didn't think it was thyroid related as my levels were in the normal range.!! I did ,so insisted on blood tests my hair has also thinned I have dermol lotion for my skin and I have good and bad days, my dose of Levothyroxine has been put up from 75mg to 100mg per day my scalp is still itchy although with the increased dose is not quite as bad....This saga has taken since February until now with 3 months inbetween blood tests.... hope this helps
