Thanks for posting...

I haven't watched the video, but since it has a link directly underneath it to a site selling the item in question I would assume that it is a sales pitch... Just my opinion of course..! :)

Iodine use is extremely controversial and Thyroid UK always advise people to be tested to check for iodine deficiency before considering supplementing with it.

Also, can I suggest posting a new question with your latest thyroid blood results as people will be more than happy to offer support and information.

Check out the main website...

We have had posts previously re iodine.

This is an excerpt I have read just now, so whatever supplements we use we have to be sure they don't aggravate our condition, whether hyper or hypo:-

Why does this happen? Because increased iodine intake, especially in supplement form, can increase the autoimmune attack on the thyroid. Iodine reduces the activity of an enzyme called thyroid peroxidase (TPO). TPO is required for proper thyroid hormone production.

Yes, true. I haven't gone in to be tested for it yet, as my primary focus has been my husband while in this support group. He had RAI and is now going through one heck of a storm. In my pursuit to understand why and how we can overcome it, I've found loads of information. Sharing it just as current alternatives in building up our health.

Not selling anything my self - but I'll leave off posting any more Youtube links. Cheers...

No, don't stop posting Youtube links as I have had lots of helpful information. It is good too that information can be discussed and it is a learning process as you are able to discern what is useful to your condition.

I hope your husband improves soon.

To add to Shaws comment; I took iodine supplements (with selenium) for 2 months and my TPO went from negative to positive. I stopped them immediately. I don't know if it was a coincidence or not.

We only need a teaspoon of iodine during our entire lives.... and yes the above posts are so helpful. Yes it can antagonise people with Hashimotos. So much to learn and so often lots of conflicting ideas/facts/experiences and so on.... Fall in love with one site - maybe Thyroid UK - and have a good read. There are some excellent YouTube videos so no need to stop posting them.....hope things are improving for your husband.
