Hello,

Can you tell us which makes of replacement hormones you are on please and what gave the doctor reason to confirm that you are intolerant to them? Have you tried several brands? Has he suggested any solutions?

Do you have your latest test results? If so could you please post them on here with their reference ranges? Do you have any symptoms?

That's weird! It's infuriating. I had 2 notification messages from you - but that's all! Perhaps try again some time soon to see if it works. Jane x

here I go again ferritin 89 (15 300)

t4 14.6 (11 25)

tsh 1.86 (.27 4.2)

t3 4.3 (3.1 6.8)

I have tried levo all brands, armour alone and with

lyothyronine t3, t3 only, elroxin tablet form and liquid

I am well for a week or so when I change meds. then all the same symptoms come back. tired , headaches, light headed, constipated, back ache. the list goes on. when I told my doc this he then said I was levo intolerant. I see him again next week after taking t3 only with all the same symptoms back after a week of feeling better, I know he will say the same as before. I have seen dr s in bham also 2 endos one private one nhs. because my blood tests are ok they say I am fine.

any other ideas. I have sent for kelp and iodine tabs I am getting desperate. thank all regards brenda

OK, next question. Have you had any tests done for Vits B12 and D, folates, ferritin and very importantly intracellular magnesium? Have you had any adrenal tests done? Jane x

in reply to

ferritin as above when you say adrenals is that the diabetes tests if so yes have had all tests for diabetes, all well. as for b12 and d and folates no thanks brenda

in reply to

No, adrenal tests are not related to diabetes, but with the production of adrenal hormones like cortisol and DHEA. These can be tested by Genova Diagnostics:

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin... - ask for test END01. Thyroid hormones and adrenal hormones need to be balanced.

Your GP can test you for B12, D and folates. I'm not sure what he means by intolerance to thyroid replacement drugs. It may simply be that if it is that your symptoms return after a few days you perhaps need to increase your dose until the symptoms are relieved. This is what Dr. Lowe told my daughter to do when he put her on T3, and once she was on a high dose some of her symptoms were relieved.

There are other reasons for inefficient thyroid function including stealth viruses, mould biotoxins and Lyme Disease, but check the things above first.

I am intolerant to synthetic T4 and T3 and take Armour. My GP is able to prescribe this as I am unable to take the synthetic forms.

Hi, I seem to have a reply from you in my email notifications but not on here. sorry to hear you had problems with Armour too. I thought I would as I just could not seem to tolerate any increase and had to go in small increments over a long time. It has taken me over 18 months to get to 3 grains and I still have a long way to go to be well enough to live any sort of normal life. I hope somebody has some answers for you. Best wishes.

Do you have a thyroid? If so why is it not working? Is it because it it being attacked. ( hashimotos) or is it short of raw materials (iodine) to work with? Rather than taking a replacement of t3 and t4, maybe you would do ok feeding your thyroid extra vits and minerals to encourage it? I think nutri thyroid does this....

Also, have you only tried armour? What about nature throid, (the one which is hypoallergenic) ?

Something will work for you..... It has to!

reply went of to soon thankyou again for help kind thoughts brenda
