Just wondering if anyone else has had a strong bitter salty taste in their mouth since Goldshield changed to Pharma merca .

Trying to see if there is a link as my problem seems to have started when the company was taken over . Has anyone else ever experienced this as it is driving me mad .Gp has no answers .

Definitely have a burning coated tongue and am having stomach pains as well since the change in company. At the beginning of the year I was improving from antibiotic problems, but for the past 6 months or so have been going downhill again and do feel something has changed. Janet.

The change from Goldshield to Mercury Pharma was not a takeover - it was the choice of the company itself to change its name.

I have bad stomach now since being on merc p or whatever their name is now,,, is very similar to the stomach issues I had on gold shield but I didn't have any issue with eltroxin ,,, all same fillers, so yes I agree and contest that something is up..I do also get that taste you mention but I also get it on actavis , plus I temp went onto actavis recently and within a week, my thyroid was swollen, joint pains and fatigue so went back onto merc p ,, I just think all the generics have issues. I find taking my levo with plenty water helps that taste you mention.. best wishes ! Ian

Thank you for your replies . Am I correct in believing Activis is made by the same company ? Ian I do drink plenty of

water when taking my meds . The taste is so strong now ,it is lasting almost all day and yes I have stomach pain as

as far as I'm aware actavis is made by different company, thyroid UK have list of thyroid meds plus fillers on their site. do you have history of stomach issues? I have reflux.. currently on omeprazole as had bad flare up.. ..Ian
