Scrap my orginal post - now deleted. Didn't read your previous posts properly. Mine is a temporary blip by the looks of things... Good luck with yours. I'm looking forward to seeing my blood test results next week which hopefully won't involve another swing to hyper after my hyper-hypo-normal cycle so far. How did they diagnose you with inflammation of the thyroid? My antibodies were negative too but mine is apparently thyroiditis x

Yes I have Thyroiditis to :0) endocrinologist is just waiting for me to eventually go under active, then they can treat me with thyroxine. Looks like I have to put up with all the horrible symptoms :0(

I was hoping I had it wrong and you didn't have thyroiditis! How many swings have you had? I was hyper in June, hypo in July after carbimazole and 'normal' in August after taking thyroxine. Blood test next week will hopefully show I'm still somewhere around normal... Feel for you, it's horrid to swing so quickly and not know what the next phase is x

The doctors not doing anything apart from taking blood from me once a month to monitor my TSH levels. This advice came from the endocrinologist . I am not on any medication as of yet.

Hi - I had Hashimoto's with autoantibodies. But post pregnancy the autoantibodies have vanished. And my thyroid seems to have come back to life. Which basically has led to a summer of hellish hyper symptoms caused by over medication of thyroxine (from 150 in late June to 100 to 75 to 50 and now nothing). I'm under endocrinologist care and he says the thyroid might fail again but right now it looks like it is working. So suspect I'm in for a swing from hyper/hypo like you... Don't know how you feel but hyper is WAY worse than hypo for me. Making me doubt my sanity.

I have no antibodies in regards to my Thyroiditis. I have been told these are fine, which still confuses me. into i have come to have gotten problem. Still not sure which type I have. Maybe a silly question to ask but would you know? I am not on any medication of thyroxine. Aww you poor thing yes i agree I would prefer to be hypo not hyper. Thought I was going to have a heart attack and die, huge panic attacks and pains in all my limbs, shakes as well. Wish there was a miracle cure :0) speak soon needtogettbetter x

I have been hypo for 30 years and was stable on 150 mcg thyroxine replacement until I developed De Quervains thyroiditis, which didn't involve production of autoantibodies as you get with Hashimotos. It was a viral episode that came on with an attack of other flu-like symptoms, accompanied by nodules and swelling on the thyroid gland, which was also very painful.

I was swinging for several months, felt really ill and hypo then had to be increased to 200mcg to get the TSH, FT4 and T3 back into the normal range. That was 3 years ago and still not 100% although the doctors say there's no current link between the thyroiditis and my current problems. I hope you have a good doctor who is prepared to take bloods monthly to monitor what's happening until it settles down.

Good luck, hope you get some relief soon

I was on carbimazole to begin with as Graves was suspected. It wasn't and carbimazole pushed me even more under than I already was. My endo said that with thyroiditis your thyroid dumps everything all of a sudden which gives the impression of an overactive thyroid when infact it is under despite the hormones levels buzzing around your body. Who knows! I'm beginning to get fed up with it all! Bloods on Thursday should hopefully shed some more light. Hope you both get answers soon. And yes, hyper much wore than hypo for me too! x
