Hi, Yes, we are all having these same problems, and it is VERY annoying because we want to help people. Could you please report the problems you've been having to the HU people themselves. I've sent them several messages over the last few days. I think it's become worse in the last week or so.

I've mailed you - so check your mailbox.

The site is still working but changes every so often so people lose track, day to day. I week of history is not enough to go back on old answers on others posts- that is the week link, at first stab.

I do wonder what the logic behind the new site design is- a policy review is needed to stop the deterioration in confidence.

People are still posting out of desperation but the replies are not as cohesive as the old site and don't stay around in a clear way for evaluation, back referral etc. so info is too easily buried.

There are some good changes- but it feels like a experiment in process to me!

Comeonandgethappy - I'm sorry to say that I completely agree with you, and have posted at great length saying so - whether or not anybody sees it, I don't know. I'm sure the admins are doing their best for us (much appreciated), but it really does seem to be getting worse.

I've also emailed Health Unlocked with my concerns - mainly that people will not get answers to their posts, will get ignored, (which is very worrying if they are in particually dire straits), info will get lost and people will just give up - partly due to the huge volume of individual emails we get now that we don't get the digests with 20 or 30 posts that we could see at a glance and refer back to if we wanted to. This is impossible with hundreds of individual emails. (Or of course you could opt for the email option of having 'Todays Top Posts' chosen for you, usually two, which seems about as useful as a chocolate teapot).

I actually wanted to comment on your original post at the top of the page, but when I went through the process needed to access the post, first there was a blank page with a delay, then 'oops, that post seems to have been deleted' came up on the page. THEN a whole list of posts appeared, yours among them - so it HADN'T been deleted. I don't have a clue what's going on, but it ain't good :-(

Edit:

GGGRRRR!!!!! When I pressed 'reply', my post disappeared and no line came up at the top of the page saying my reply had been successfuly created. Fortunately I had the forethought to copy it first, so I was able to create it again without starting from scratch. So I tried again, and this time DID get the 'successfully created' message. Now I see that the other one that disappeared is actually up there, so I have inadvertently duplicated a post! I have tried to delete it without success and am now giving up before my head explodes. Sorry for the duplication.

GGGGRRRR!!!!!! I have tried to edit the above post, but when I hit the button, the post disappears.

When I wrote my first reply and hit the button, the post disappeared and I did not get the 'successfully created' message at the top of the page. I had had the forethought to copy the post, so could rewrite it without starting again from scratch, and this time it went through, and I did get the 'successfully created' message.

I then saw that the post that had initially disappeared actually had appeared again, so I had inadvertantly duplicated a post. (With me so far?)

So I tried to delete one, without success, then tried to edit one to apologize for the duplication. Guess what? The edit disappeared.

So I am writing this as a 'reply' to myself rather than an edit, hoping it will go through. After that, I give up before my head explodes.

Now I'm getting 'sorry, there's an error - please try again'. I've already TRIED AGAIN, and again and gain. This is crazy.

Tried again - got the 'error' message again. This is completely hopeless.

Tried the 'edit' again - it disappeared again...Tried the 'reply' again, got the 'error, please try again' message..OK, my head has exploded...bye...

There have been lots of problems today and I reported it this morning. I have just reported again because service is intermittent at best :( It is very frustrating!

Having left it for half an hour and at long last suceeded, I see EVERYTHING that disappeared has now reappeared. Abject apologies for all the duplication, but it wasn't my fault yer honour, truly.

Tried to edit the posts to say I finally got a message through, and then saw that EVERYTHING that had previousy disappeared was now up there. So abject apologies for multiple duplications.

Naturally the 'edit' disappeared *^%*&*^%!!!! AGAIN!!!! So I am trying 'reply' again in an effort to explain what happened. You are seeing the rapid disintegration of somebody already partly falling apart. Talk about ever decreasing circles.

I've had posting problems too, but as I've not been on for awhile and missed all the updates I'm thinking it's me so haven't reported so I don't feel like a ... der!... coming on. lol. There don't seem to be so many responses to questions as a couple of months ago. ??? i used to be inundated I thought perhaps peeps were fed up on my postings. ??

Kangagirl profile image
Kangagirl in reply toPoppyRose

PoppyRose, I don't think anybody is fed up with your posting at all. I've noticed that there aren't as many answers to questions, and mentioned that in my incessant moaning :-) I just think people are hating the new system so much and finding it so confusing and difficult they are just not bothering - or they're on the 'Top Posts' chosen for them option, (when you just get two), and are not even seeing most of the messages.

I'm sure loads of potentially useful info and people's questions are just getting lost. Such a pity, and no need for it.

Hi! OK and thank you well I got this and CarolyB's :)

I totally agree with Kangagirl. It's not you, it's this site. Even admins (who get notification of absolutely everything posted - or at least we should do!) are not getting all our notifications. This makes it very difficult to do our jobs. We do scour the questions from time to time, when we can actually log in, to make sure questions aren't going unanswered but what we are achieving is not as good as we'd like it to be.

Don't ever feel people are fed up with your posts!

I very much hope that everything will be sorted out soon. It is taking up far too much of everyone's time when we could be helping twice as many people.

Hi! Thanks CarolyB. It must be very difficult for admin having such problems too.

I'll persevere, but don't come on as much as I used to because it can get too difficult to navigate, post, reply to Q's etc... What a shame all we want to do is help each other. Some are in such desperate situations. I'm on Anorexia and Bulimia too for advice with my daughter. I'm afraid new comers will not stay as it doesn't really work well at the moment.

There is nothing worse than signing up, posting a query and not getting any responses, or 1 or 2 :(

I'm sure we'll all persevere. It's just that we were all used to a much better service. I do appreciate it's all free too.

Some of the best advice I have had off this site which has helped me win my latest case with my surgery. I couldn't have managed it the way things are now. I used to be inundated with advice replies.

By the way you all do a fab job! :)

PoppyRose has highlighted points that I and many of us totally agree with:

'There is nothing worse than signing up, posting a query and not getting any responses, or 1 or 2 :( '

'I used to be inundated with advice replies'

'What a shame all we want to do is help each other. Some are in such desperate situations'

I have moaned on about this ad nauseam, and this is without all the technical issues of not being able to view posts, not being able to reply or edit (see the mess I made of it yesterday), getting duplicate notifications, still getting the 'Top Posts chosen for me' in addition to heaps of individual emails, even though I have opted out of that choice, etc, etc, etc.

Surely the 'Powers That Be' can understand our concerns, and can see that the new system just isn't working? It feels as though they've set it up and have just left us to get on with it, despite saying that things will get better - well they obviously aren't, are they?

I just hate to keep moaning and whingeing - this takes up so much time and energy that could be better spent on helping people or seeking help for ourselves. I just feel that it is important to 'keep on', otherwise people will just get fed up and drift away, and we'll lose our lovely, helpful and desperately needed community.

This was the BEST Thyroid support site out there, and we need it to get back on track. PLEASE. The present system is just not working.

I'm not complaining in any way about the admins, who are doing a fantastic job against seemingly impossible odds. x

I promise we are doing everything we can! We have fixed so many issues but unfortunately others pop up.

Look out for improved daily notifications that will be coming you way soon. Everything else we are tirelessly trying to fix. Please do not think we are ignoring anyone.

I agree with you, why can't we go back to how things were. It worked then!

Hi there,

We are aware of the issues with notification emails and are working hard to identify the problem and fix them.

It is also not our intention to only let you see back a short period of time... this will all be improved. Many of the things you don't like about this new site aren't here to stay.

Many thanks for your patience.

Is there anything who knows and can assist with the tech/logistics? Send out a word.

Yes, it would be very helpful for someone from HealthUnlocked to post on each community to let the members know what the problems are and when they are likely to get fixed. I will see about sending an email tomorrow regarding this. At least some reassurance from 'The-Powers-that-be' would be helpful!

Having same problem of blank posts, replies, etc. What to do?

Kangagirl profile image
Kangagirl

Now I'm asking myself - and anybody who cares to listen, why have I had a second notification today of comeonandgethappy's original question? There have been no additional replies since my garbled mess this morning, so nothing new. (Well at least with the new system hardly anybody will see what a pig's ear I made of it).

This is not the first time I have had a duplicate notification of a post when there are in fact no new replies. Is it just me going nuts or is this whole thing a complete mess? :-(

PoppyRose profile image
PoppyRose in reply toKangagirl

Hmmm... I've just got a email notification for someone's question that I'm not linked to. Thought I would help them anyway ... like you do ;) but can't find it now to help them. ??

We weren't entirely aware of the logistics of the problem a few days ago, and the issue about checking the spam folder was something that had in fact occurred with another active user like yourself.

I completely understand your frustration. I promise we are doing everything in our power to fix this problem and we will have it fixed as soon as we possibly can.

I was giving up on the emails as I couldn't get through to the site, couldn't even log in. This morning I just went straight to the website:

healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk

and was straight in! Didn't even have to sign in. So perhaps that's the way to go. It came straight up on my page with all the letters.
