Am taking the Mercury pharma generic thyroxine at the moment and it seems ok but I haven't ever taken Eltroxin so I can't compare the two.

My next lot are Actavis and I seem to go between that, Almus and Mercury. The hospital pharmacy gives me Actavis when I take my endo's prescription there and my local pharmacy gives me Almus or Mercury, normally I had been getting Wockhardt 25mcg then my local place gave me Mercury 25mcg and now I am back to Wockhardt again.

Just had a look and see my Almus is made by Actavis - so same thing I think.

I originally had Eltroxin after being given Actavis, which gave me a stomach ache, but for the last two or three months on Mercury generic I don't seem to be so good, but nothing I can really put my finger on and have other health problems going on after antibiotics. Janet.

It is so hard to tell sometimes isn't it. I have been keeping a diary and jotting down how I have been feeling etc on a daily basis. Unfortunately I realise now that I ought to have been noting what brand of pill I was taking too. I will add that now but it is a pity I didn't do it from back in February when I started taking levo.

No definately not the same. I have managed to stay reasonable on 175 mcg Goldshield Eltroxin for 20 years, never perfect but coping, however have been on the Mercury Pharma replacement since end Sept when increased dose to 200 mcg ... Feeling rubbish and have had nearly a month off work! It's not the same! I have been having dysfunctional uterine bleeding for the past 7 weeks! I am tired, exhausted, cold, brain fog and cannot concentrate properly. I feel so rubbish and there is nothing I can do except increase the medication that is not working! Fed up and want to give up!
