What has happened to this site?

I can't even find questions that Id asked before and I cant find my blogs, Its bad enough when you are not functioning properly but to change something this drastically?! Even if you had more people using the system, I still cannot see why the format would have to be changed so much, the old one was much more user friendly.

Couldn't agree more - I have stayed off the site because it is so confusing and my brain fog just isn't coping with it. The main reason I liked the old site better than any other sites I have used was because it was so simple to understand and find your way around but this new layout is totally confusing and not user friendly at all.

Maybe we just don't like change or it will be lots better when it settles down and we can see the benefits of the changes.

Hi Jan61,

To find your previous questions and blogs from the old site, try this:

1. Click on your username on the green bar at the top of this page (you only see this if you are signed in).

2. Select Profile

3. On the right of your profile page near the top, is a button that says 'View my public profile'. Click on that button.

4. You should now see three tabs: My Activity, My Questions, My posts.

From these you should be able to see everything from this site and the old site.

Once you have landed on your profile pages, you can use your browser back button to return to the community pages, or choose your community from the Communities menu on the green bar at top of all pages.

Hope that helps?

But WHY does it have to be so crazily complicated? I appreciate your advice, but by the time I get to step 4, I've forgotten what I've done or why I'm doing it. Don't the 'powers that be' realise that we need something user friendly, even more so than the average person. People will stay away in droves and this helps nobody. I don't even know how to see if I ever get a reply to this. :-(

Hi Kangagirl, we're sorry that the site is not as user friendly as it used to be. It does take a while to get used to how it works, but we're all slowly getting the hang of it. Not at all ideal, but we are working with HealthUnlocked to iron out the problems. Unfortunately they didn't ask us to beta test it before they unleashed it on us, so it wasn't until it went live that we could tell them how complicated it appears from a 'brain fogged' user point of view :(

You should get an email alert for this reply from me. But *only* if you have selected this as an option in your email preferences. You can check this and make changes by clicking on your Username at the top of the page, then select it from the menu that drops down.

Thank you RedApple, I did get an email alert for your reply, but it was pot luck because I didn't know I had to 'do' anything like selecting it as an option in my email preferences. I didn't ask for a 'daily digest' with only three posts in it either, but that's all I'm getting. It just seems unnecessarily and annoyingly complicated, which is the last thing we need. Oh well - a case of like it, lump it or leave I suppose. Thanks again.

I agree! I was new to this site a few months back, wrote a post and was so happy to receive lots of support and useful information. I've come back to the site to find out more info as my medication/TSH levels have changed etc but I can't navigate around the site any more! Sooo confusing!! I managed to post last night but to date no one has responded, I believe this is because people are keeping away! Also, can't find my old post or my new post!! Happy days!! x

Sad isn't it :( no one is answering mine either. Back to being on our own :(

imho the biggest problem with this new version is the "latest activity" feed on the home page. On the old site you could see a selection of questions and blog posts. On this new version you see repeated posts on the same question or post. In other words, more weight is given to individual answers than to the topic of the post of question. A question receiving a lot of answers will take up the whole of the home page so the rest become invisible. There should be an option to view latest activity OR latest questions/posts.

Why don't you email support@healthunlocked.com and tell them. Maybe they'll change it at some point.

I agree that the latest activity isn't helpful. I've been at work all day and just logged on. As I can only see the most recent activity it isn't very helpful. I thought that was what notifications were for anyway :(

I didn't think I was particularly thick, but now I feel as if I am. I wanted to reply to rosetrees post, but the performance you have to go through! Hit reply, then have to log in, (once you've figured out what the little box means), then you see your own picture and a list of questions (not including this one), so then what? Guesswork - hit 'back' to get back to here. And that's just to simply 'reply'! I don't like to seem negative, but I am very disappointed with the way the website has been totally changed. I noticed I hadn't had any notifications for ages, then yesterday one came up, but there were only three question, not a list to chose from, and without going on about it - I am totally confused and quite upset - I have learned such a tremendous amount from the good people on here during the past year and a half, and now feel rather like Danifox6 - back to being on our own. Things are now so complex, I'm not sure I will bother any more.

I know we will 'have to get used to it', and all the other things people say when a new system comes under criticism - but yes, why should we have to get used to it? The other site was so user friendly and most of us really felt as though we had almost instant access to help and support and good sense and humour, and somewhere to vent if we needed to - and boy have most of us needed to!

What a shame this is - I don't object at all to change if it's an improvement, but this seems like change just for the sake of it, just because they 'can'. I would go so far as to say that I believe some peoples' lives have been saved by the degree of instant support they had access to just by posting, which was very easy. I've seen many posts written in desperation by folk who were at the end of their tether, and supportive replies and advice would come pouring in. And it was easy to offer support as well - just hit 'reply'. What now? If nobody can get to grips with the site enough to reply, can't find the lists of topics, don't see all the questions, have to log in every time, etc etc, why bother posting in the first place? Our poor brains are already fogged enough.

This feels a bit like going to the GP - here's another brick wall, bang your head against that. Jump through this hoop, no you can't do it like that, you have to do it like this. Just when you thought you had something good and helpful, nope, it all changes. You'll get used to it dear. It's your age.

I know admin does a fantastic job, and I'm not blaming anybody - just wish things had been left as they were or if necessary just minimal tweaking.

I'm not a computer illiterate fogey, but this is ridiulous and not at all helpful. Very sad :-(

If you have concerns please do email support@healthunlocked.com so that they are aware of any issues. I agree that it isn't as user friendly. Hopefully we will all get used to it in time.

Danifox6 profile image

You shouldn't have to get used to it. I have posted a question no one has answered. This is the first time ever. If people can't see the questions to offer help, what's the point in the site.......go back to being on our own.

PinkNinja profile image
PinkNinja in reply to Danifox6

You won't be on your own. I was on line all day Saturday and most of Sunday making sure no question went unanswered. There are other admins too who are also doing the same thing this week. We don't want your questions to go unanswered and we agree that it is a pain in the **** not getting notifications. It makes our jobs very difficult and makes it very hard for you to get the support you need.

Please do submit your feedback. We can't do anything about the site as it is not us who are responsible for it. You need to use the email address to let the people who built this platform know what you think about it. They are the ones who can do something about it.

Many of us have submitted feedback but the more the better.

I hope this gets sorted out very soon!

I wondered why I was getting any daily updates of postings anymore......seems they have stopped emailing them? Or is it just me? This might explain why people aren't replying to postings -you don't see them in your emails anymore.....so you dont know they exist unless you log into the site ....lol

Can't say I like the new site -would have appreciated a warning

I do appreciate them emailing me to apologise though :) x

We had no warning ourselves about exactly how the new site would run.

Part of the problem has been that the Admin team have been learning and struggling along with everyone else! :(

We are submitting comprehensive feedback within the next day or so and hope to see improvements in design, function and for the technical glitches to be sorted. In the meantime I have produced some detailed guidance for using the new style site:
