Starting Meds Any Advice?

Hi,, what dose are you starting on? Good Advice is take with full glass of water,, on empty stomach, avoid caffeine and food for hour after to help absorb. I wasn't told this by doc,, i found it via here and Google...
Hi Hele. Side effects? - well, hopefully, feeling a bit better. Don't be disappointed if that does not happen right away - you will likely start on a very low dose and work up.
Don't let the doctor leave you on a low dose for too long, three weeks should really be enough, before you go back to see how things are. Otherwise you will just get going and then run out of fuel and feel worse!
Most important of all, if you feel things are not going right, see your doctor again but also, come back here and ask, ask, ask. So many of us have been through it all, we probably understand better than many doctors, even though almost none of us are medically trained.
I do hope that this is the beginning of a journey back to health for you.

I was concerned that many thyroid patients complain of other problems such as adrenal fatigue or numbness, intolerance to certain meds such as levo, and other such problems and wasnt sure if these were caused by taking medication or exacerbated or what their effect on fertility is?
25mcg is a very low dose, usually 50mcg is a starting one. I expect you have another appointment in 4/6 weeks to check your blood levels and increase your meds.
Each time you have a blood test get a copy for your own records and if you have a query post your thyroid gland blood ones complete with the ranges, as labs differ.
Also get a Vit B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate tested. The first two are usually deficient.
