You won't know until you try!

I'd be interested in seeing opinions on this question, at the moment I take mine first thing and don't eat for a couple of hours after (easy for me as I'm not one for breakfast) however I seem to hit a wall of tiredness at about 5 which lasts for a couple of hours before feeling better for an hour then going to bed. Just wondering if I take the odds last thing perhaps I won't get that 5 pm crash? Also how quickly would you notice the difference ?

I've just started to take my levo before bed with lots of water and after 2-3 nightsI must say I feel better first thing in morning than when on morning mefs. I am not as tired and feel I've slept better. It's early days tho so will let you know if this changes. :-)

I have just started on night medication - just wanted to give it a try to see if it made a difference. About 8 days in now, with mixed results. I do sleep a little better and wake feeling a bit more refreshed but the 2nd day in I felt so dizzy around mid-morning I had to go back to bed and lie down til it passed. Next day was okay but I have felt pretty awful for the remaining days with a slight improvement for the past 2 days.

However, with everything thyroid it seems to take time so I am going to persevere. I did read somewhere that you need to give it a couple of months so I will do just that.

Tried night meds for a week but had terrible palpitations not certain if they were caused by the change in time but reduced and now stopped after returning to before breakfast.

I used to take mine with everything else in the morning but about a month ago started taking my levo separately at night a few hours after eating, with just water, which is supposed to be the way to do it---I don't reckon it's made any difference, still shattered when i wake up :( but I guess its the way that suits you that matters- I find at bedtime much easier as i always have to eat as soon as i wake up!

Hi All

Just wanted to say that shaws said that it would be a good idea to try taking my T3 at night, I tried it and it works great for me! I take 40mg @4.30 a.m. and 10 mg at 2.00pm and it has worked well for me so give it a go!

Regards wakeham.

Thankyou for the responses folks, symptomatically I feel similar to you jojo-flo so I will carry on taking at night. Only on my 2nd night so far and nearly forgot lasts nights meds!! Think I will give it a good few months to see. been taking thyroxine for 19 years now and dealing with the associated problems that come with a thyroid condition.

I tried taking them at night but as they have to be taken on an empty stomach it didn't really work for me - I'd forget to stop snacking and have to sit up until silly o' clock to take the pills :-)

Sorry - pressed reply before I'd finished!

I'm back to taking them in the morning now as this works better for me. I wake up between 5 & 6 to go to the bathroom and take my tablets then. I go back to sleep and by the time I wake up it's okay to have a coffee and something to eat.
