Side-effects of adrenal glandulars?
Hi, in the past week I have just begun taking an adrenal support supplement I saw recommended on here, I am definitely having a wobble at the moment, I would be interested to know if the new regime has brought that on and how long it will take to pass. Dr S has put me on Thyroxin and I am on my second week of 100mg. I cannot wait to feel better, especially as I am off on holiday as of Friday. Good luck Cloud and sorry I cannot answer your question.
I didn't have any side effects with the adrenal support glandulars like I did with thyroid support glandular. I generally find if I do get a reaction is starts within a few hours to a few days and if it's going to go then usually gone within a week. I once stuck something out for 3 weeks and thought if it's making me feel this bad for this long then it can't be doing me any good so stopped. I wouldn't put up with taking something that made me feel bad for weeks. No more than a week or so but I had no such experience with adrenal glandulars.
There's potentially a difference between a reaction caused by a sensitivity/allergic reaction, and a symptom caused by the supplement taking physiological effect.
My replacement is mostly T3 with a smaller amount of T4 - required since a thyroidectomy in 2005. The T3 has proven essential to avoid hypothyroidism, while more T4 leaves me feeling unwell.
Still feeling the effects of being a little off, needing to up my work output and suspecting adrenal weakness I started a course of Nutri Adrenal Extra last month. Daily adrenal variation was one area never tested - only the stock tests for the presence of gross disease/major insufficiency.
The scenario pre-thyroidectomy was long term undiagnosed hypothyroidism (really bad fatigue) with auto immune thyroid and related troubles.
No negative reactions so far, and it's delivered a definite boost in motivation and energy. I could just about feel it 'come on' an hour or two after taking two tablets for a few days, but the benefit is consistent now. It's instilled a definite bounce in my step, hopefully long term in that the adrenals will take up the slack on their own in due course.
There's about a 3m supply in the pack, the plan is to phase it out as it nears the end and see what happens without it.
It'd be interesting to hear of others' experience....

I had no side effects although I did not take the full doses as I understand you should take them all before 2 pm. DHEA was a very different story. I had a headache after trying 5 mgs.
I have just started on adrenal cortex as of yesterday but I haven't had anything radical appear so far.
I know this is an old post but i hope you are still there....how is it going with adrenal glandular? i would like to try nutri advances adrenal extra... i ordered also Adrenal Rebuilder i will see how it work....
Hi everyone! I've been taking 1 tablet of Nutri Adrenal Extra for the last 3 days and have been off my eltroxin for the last 7 days (as Dr P suggested) I feel really weird - memory loss, dizziness, anxious and irritable!! - I was thinking it'd be my lack of eltroxin so took my usual 100mg an hour ago...Any other suggestions welcome, do these symptoms pass? Horrible feeling...
