What is the ideal gap between eltroxin dose and breakfast?

You should not eat or drink anything (except water) for at least two hours before or after taking Eltroxin. T4 needs the gut to be empty to absorb properly.

Following Moggie's suggestion, have you tried taking your meds last thing at night instead of morning. Many have found it beneficial.

Absolutely shaws...stops you nibbling in the evening and then leaves all the next day to take whatever else you need. Plus the fact you can have breakfast without a care in the world!

If you take it first thing on an empty stomach, I don't think it takes one hour to go through the digestive system. I'm sure it gets into the blood stream much faster than a meal would. I usually wait half an hour to eat anything and have been doing that for years. Just my humble opinion.
