My wife had thyroid cancer 20 years ago. She had all her thyroid glands removed. She's been on synthroid ever since. 2 years ago the Dr. reduced her medication dosage. Yesterday s test results show her TSH level at 0.01. Her Dr. says it's too high. How can such a low level be considered too high?

Not sure what country you live in, however I had TT 14 years ago and my Levo has been reduced several times. Apparently doctors are now scared there may be damage to bones and heart from a too high dosage. There is a balance however, because you have to take enough Levo to suppress TSH level to ensure the cancer does not reccur. The goalposts are continually moved, it is confusing.
