my problems started after the operation, then a second one a couple of years ago and its when i noticed strange things happening with my stomach, to cut a long story now my symptoms are cramps and desperate need for the toilet, pain before eating, pain after eating, pain if not eating, very bloated, sharp pains through stomach to my anus and back, and very bad back pain lower and under ribs but that could be due to all tensing up feels like i've took a good kicking there the night before (thought wife was drugging me and jumping on my back in middle of night lol) mornings start trying to make cup of peppermint tea and cramps and rushing to the toilet sometimes not making it, not having full control from op? cant get off until knowing going to be late for work yet again, tried to break cycle and trying to go at night but get there and nothing happens but at any time my stomach cramps i run, but next morning same again running up there. anyone had the same problem of an op for piles.
didn't even think i had ibs until wife said it just before my doctors appointment after going to him and hospital many times to try and find out what was happening to me and maybe thinking i was imagining it, so put it to him and he said yes? it looks like you have got it? but why does it take us to tell them when they should be telling me? got an appointment in may to sheffield, but doc gave me tablets and they sometimes seem to be working but not always, well that was not short version but once you start its hard to stop lol so i'll shut up now.

Sorry to hear yr story Adam. It sounds like yr body has tensed up from the ops. Reading a few of the experiences on here plus my own (where I had to suggest I try the FODMAP diet to my gastro), I would say take it in yr own hands to find a fix.
If I were you I would look at systemic kinesiology. They may be able to make some gentle manipulations to get your muscles working.
Other option is ask yr gp or gastro to refer you for biofeedback which tests yr muscles. I am due to hv this soon (gastro referred me months ago but I hv since found fodmaps helps).
Its all going to be trial and error but search around for some other similar cases as it does not sound like yrs is diet related. Be positive. Good luck.
Thanks seen a lot of people on about fodmaps will look into it, forgot to say that I've only found out for sure a few weeks ago the worst things are the cramps, bloated and the sharp pains, and very tired even cut out caffeine only on peppermint tea now and still getting nights waking up with pains or running to toilet at 4 in morning, also getting down at times and snapping at loved ones or feeling spaced out, tried to drown my sorrows only to find out alcohol has no affect so can't even get that right lol.
Will get to look into things in more detail when I get chance.
If you've only had these symptoms recently than try the kinesiology...I am sure it could help to reverse whatever those ops have triggered. There are valves in the digestive tract that could be malfunctioning and kiniosiologist can gently work on those..look it up and see if your symptoms and pain areas fit one of those.
I have had my symptoms for 20 years and know it is food related so doing FODMAPS for me makes sense.
If you are concerned about kinesiology than just look up one near you and ask them some questions on the phone. Check out the 'systemic kinesiology' websites for members.
Had symptoms since the op and took going to docs and saying I'm sure I've got ibs and him saying yes u have, been getting fed up of going hospital and docs had the camera and blood tests and many examinations just for them to say they don't know what's wrong with me, have to go northern general in may for more of the same so not looking forward to that lol
Hi , do you think you may have been stressed at having your operations ?
as I had similar symptoms to yours all of last year and like you had camera ,blood & stool samples etc to be told everything looks normal so it must be ibs , doctor kept suggesting I may have had an infection and my body had dealt with it leaving me with this ! so frustrating I know, I had carried on taking all the tablets and only eat small amounts of very boring plain foods eg chicken /potato no sauces or veg for a while ,then suddenly I started to notice things were not as bad & gradually I have started to introduce little bits more and sometimes I take a step back , I have also kept to lactose free milk and no coffee only decaf tea and water.
I am a worrier and that's why I ask were you worrying about your ops?
Not much of a worrier and the ops never bothered me, bothers me now with the pains and rest of it. Just wish it would feck off lol, just wondering if anyone else had problems after piles op.
Hi Adam, can I ask how/what do they do in the op? Is it external or internal?
Am wondering if the op has just caused a change in your internal bacteria.
Not sure if you are aware but 'ins' is the term given by Drs when they have no clue as to what the cause is. Hence people with IBS have differing symptoms and triggers.
So another thing for your research is 'bacteria - good and bad'.
Hope this helps...are you a researching type? Lol if not let me know and I'll adjust my posts from now
