I am 60plus and believe I might have IBS is it exclusively a younger persons complaint or might I be the exception to the rule

No you are not the exception to the rule, I am 73 and was diagnosed by the hospital after all invasive tests, Drs gave me their diagnosis as IBS
I'm 61 and only developed this condition during the last year
I'm 71 and have had it for four years but since keeping a minutely detailed food diary, am much better. The help I have found, reading other peoples letters and comments on this site, has been invaluable in identifying foods that cause it and natural cures. I've popped onto other sites such as the Mayo Clinic and every time I get more ideas and add that to my self help list to try out. What appears to be a brick wall of unpredictable ill health, begins to have chinks in it and they grow bigger.
