Mebervine long term use

hi I've Been Taking them twice daily before meals for over 15 Years. Doctor told me to take them. There meant to help prevent indigestion. I also take peppermint oil capsules up to an hour before meals. As far as I know tabs should be taken regular daily .unless IBS has become less of problem. I'd read the leaflet . Continue tabs .
I have taken Mebeverine for around 20 years twice a day. My doctor or pharmacist have never changed this on my prescription review.
When I had IBS-D I only used to take Mebeverine when I had a flare up i.e. when I needed to control diarrheoa and not when my bowels were acting normally.
Hi glitterpants im on meverbine .i take it 3 times a day . One hour before each meal . My doctor said try for 2 wks then leave for 1 wk . Also i following a lowfodmap diet.
It can cause constipation. I only take it during a bad flare up but prefer to rely on Colpermin first for that reason as it can be a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire!
I usually take mebeverine 135mg half hour before meals only during flare-ups. Otherwise I stick to low fodmaps and be mindful of what I eat. Simethicone capsule occasionally when feeling bloated. Gastroenterologist though put me on Amitriptyline 10mg one at night for 3 months.
