Can anyone tell me. Is it true that Gaviscon can cause constipation? I think I hear this somewhere.

Gaviscon?
For me its the opposite....diarrhea with a whole tablet so I take a half tablet. My husband doesnt get any reaction, it cures his acid stomach... from medications. We think the liquid is gentler than tabs but of course not so easy to measure how much you are taking compared with a tablet.
the tablets contain Macrogol and Mannitol.
Thanks for your reply. That's interesting. I have mostly IBSC. I have not felt any effect good or bad from this. I take the liquid.
I take a tablespoon of Gaviscon most nights before bed and it definitely helps to stop acid reflux overnight. I try to make sure that I also drink plenty of water throughout the day and this should help with any constipation.
when someone has an issue with digestive carbs then unfortunately drinking plenty of water won't help. I did an experiment. I drank at least 3.2 Liter of water (throughout the day) for a month and I was still constipated. I also ate plenty of vegetables. I learned that I can't digest carbs properly when I started to drink Juvia (someone recommended it on this site). I need to be careful with it because it can cause diarrhoea if I have too much of it plus I eat too much nuts. (I'm guessing because of fat + fiber).
you’re welcome 🙏
