Fed up gut!

Hi, I have suffered with diverticulitis and IBS for about 15 years. Recently I have experienced hard bloated tum with dragging sensation just under left breast. When I eat it becomes very uncomfortable and nausea soon follows. When I walk any distance my tum swells to huge proportions and only relieves when I lay flat. I have also had loose stools, which erupt with no warning and therefore incontinent. It took 8 months to see dr who took bowel sample. Normal result. What do I do next? So miserable and lost as to what to do next? Any advice welcome!

Hi I can sympathise with you. In 2017 by abdomen began blowing up like a hard tight balloon. I just thought i was gaining weight . Id had quite severe IBS D back in 1998 that vanished . By 2018 my abdomen was huge and began to get very constipated so much so all what was coming out were string stools or pellets . Then all down my left side felt like it was burning and a sharp pai each time i ate something . My GP said my colon was inflamed so referred me for a colonoscopy I opted for a CT Version . However by the time i had the procedure the inflammation and pain had gone . The result of the virtual colonoscopy showed extensive diverticular disease so i had had diverticulitis but uncomplicated . I began to by stop eating certain foods and introduce more fibre and water things improved. However my abdomen has never returned to its natural state and is still always bloated and quite hard and is very uncomforable after eating and feels heavy no matter what i eat .The consultant in the hospital mentioned that i was full of gas . Id love for someone here to suggest something that could help bare in mins ive tried lots of things without success

Completely understand how you feel. My GP told me that if my symptoms changed especially if you are over 55 go back and see him. Easier said than done so decided to dig into my emergency fund and see a private Gastro. I had endoscopy and Colonoscopy so pleased I did. But I know the expense is very difficult for some.
