Stocking up on mesa

Is anyone else stocking up on meds in case of a flare up? After my last flare up which has lasted a month now, not out of the woods yet , but a better day today. I am stocking up on meds , I cannot go through what I've been through again. My GP was nigh on clueless. The best thing she did was give me links to this forum . Glad I'm not alone in this . Wishing you all well

Welcome! This is indeed a great place.

I don't know if I consciously stock up on meds, but my medicine cabinet is pretty darn full. And I also make sure to get my refills or med reviews done way ahead of time. Finally, I also never throw anything away. You never know when you'll need it.

Milk of magnesia, imodium, peppermint oil capsules, Fybogel mebeverine. Buscopan . They seem to work at times .

Do you have Ibs d or Ibs c as milk of magnesia is a strong laxative but the others all help more for Ibs d…..

I predominantly have IBS (D) but can be mixed at times

Hi, I use a hot water bottle or a wheat bag. Peppermint oil capsules help, or if you can tolerate it mebeverine. Side effects of that are constipation. I stopped taking that as it made things worse and gave me constipation

Yes I do stock up on med's for this IBS/Diverticular Disease of mine mainly Imodiums and Buscapans anything else that has to be done by the Doctors I usually e-mail the POD Team as they started up during the pandemic but I was told by the Pharmacy the other day that they were stopping doing so really soon that's if you live in the UK but keep checking the dates on the boxes ETC my motto is better be safe than sorry even though I think that some of do the job!!!

Well if you do stock up on Med's just remember to check the dates on them PLEASE and I know they can go out of date and they won't do you any good if they do as I take loads of them also well take care and look after yourself OK Xxx
