Pruritis, Itchy Skin

For over a year I have been demented by what the GP describes, slightly apologetically, as Senile Pruritis.

No rash or visible rash just an intense burning itch which is present day and night to varying degrees.

I have a drawer full of various creams and ointments but nothing cures this maddening condition.

Three times I have taken a strong course of Predniserone, steroid, it works for the week of the course but the itch returns with a vengeance.

Cold showers used to give some short relief but no longer.

The GP says that there in no point in referring to a Consultant Dermatologist but that is my next port of call if I am to retain some sanity.

After a little research I am starting to wonder if the condition could be connected to the Pfizer vaccine.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Ken

Hi there the doctor has no right to say that and if I was you I would get the referral it may take a while now though. I am not sure how old you are but I also get this itchy skin but I am 49 and i think its peri menopause related. It comes and goes I take a piriton to ease it when its really itchy. Might be something to consider. Good luck x
